Disaster Island - Volcano

In this project I challenged myself to create a blueprint system for fire propagation and to push a stylized look inspired by a certain pirate game. The volcano spawns bombs that travel and bombard the island, setting everything ablaze and bringing the whole scene to life.

I also wanted to see how far I could go with procedural asset creation, so most of the rocks, cliffs, and other elements were built fully in Houdini. It was a great exercise in combining procedural workflows with creative direction.

Houdini has become so much easier to pick up these days — with the amount of learning material available, it’s absolutely worth diving into.
